Everybody Sing: NYC's community choir for everyone
Donation protected
I decided to start a community choir for anyone that wanted to sing in a group after the U.S. Surgeon General announced that loneliness is a deadly epidemic in this country that kills more people per year than drugs and cigarettes. An amateur pianist with a background in vocal and choral music, I spread the word, and the people came. The first practice session was in early February 2024.
With two outdoor performances under our belt, Everybody Sing is about to step up its game by getting a new and improved website, designation as a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, recruiting more singers, and renting a venue for our first indoor show. Everybody Sing is and will always be free to join, with no audition (we like it rough), so this is a call-out to the friends of Everybody Sing, so the singers can keep doing what they do so well. If one of them can't carry a tune, they let the tune carry them. It's a beautiful thing. Pitch in if you can. Happy holidays. And thanks.
