Every Ride Counts - 40k for for Furness RDA

On 17th August, Blue and I will be riding 40km across Cumbria as part of the Endurance GB, Cumbria Challenge - and we're doing it for an amazing cause: Furness RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association).

Furness RDA is a local charity that provide life changing riding and carriage driving experiences to children and adults with disabilities. Through horses, they offer therapy, confidence, enjoyment and freedom to people who face daily challenges - whether physical, learning, emotional or sensory.

As someone who is lucky enough to enjoy regular interaction with our equine friends, I know the power they have to help heal, inspire and uplift. I would like to support the incredible volunteers, ponies and riders at Furness RDA - and we'd be so grateful for your help. Every donation counts - big or small - and goes directly towards providing care, equipment and opportunities for disabled riders in our local area.

A Graded Endurance Ride (GER) is not just a long trail, its a test of fitness, strategy and partnership for both horse and rider. We'll be covering 40k (25 miles) over the Cumbrian hills, within a set time, passing veterinary checks to ensure Blue stays sound and keeps his smiley ears throughout. Its going to be a real challenge and will take some planning, a lot of training and a bit of grit and sheer determination - though lets be honest - when horses are involved nothing ever goes quite to plan...so we'll be relying on a lot of luck too!
