Look at these faces.

These are students at Lugard Secondary School in Madalla, Niger State, Nigeria. They just learned what renewable energy is, many of them for the first time in their lives.

They held up signs. They asked questions. They smiled.

And when the session ended, they went back to classrooms with no electricity.

WHO IS Y-JET?

Y-JET (Youth for Just Energy Transition) is a youth-led organisation in Nigeria that takes clean energy education directly into schools and communities, for free, with no funding, run entirely by young volunteers who believe things can change.

They go into classrooms. They explain solar panels using real examples, like the local barber who switched from a diesel generator to solar and transformed his business. They inspire girls to see themselves as future engineers and energy leaders.

They have already reached schools across Niger State, Abuja and Eastern Nigeria.

And they have done all of this with zero budget.

THE PROBLEM

To grow, Y-JET needs to become an officially registered NGO in Nigeria. Without registration:

▸ They cannot apply for international grants.

▸ They cannot open a bank account in Y-JET's name.

▸ They cannot sign formal partnerships with schools and institutions.

▸ They cannot scale beyond what their volunteers can sustain alone.

Registration costs approximately €100 in Nigeria.

Printed educational materials for schools: €100.

Basic administrative costs to get started: €100.

Total: €300. That is all.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THIS

Once registered, Y-JET will apply for international funding, EU-Africa programmes and private foundations, to fund something much bigger: real solar installations in schools and health centres.

This campaign is already supported by Iris Pérez, a Solar PV Project Specialist from Spain, who is developing a joint programme called Light for Nigeria, a plan to bring actual solar power, not just education, to communities that need it most.

This campaign is managed by Iris Pérez (Spain), Y-JET's European technical partner. Every euro is tracked and transferred to Y-JET Nigeria against verified receipts.
