The best day of my life was the day my son Isaiah was born.
Being a father is the greatest gift! Being a parent is so important and dynamic to a child. They’re molded by their parents’ careful guidance and they flourish from the selfless acts of their parents.
It breaks my heart in ways I've never felt before to say this. I've been unable to see or speak to my son for almost 2 years.
Only recently have I been able to share time with him—1 1/2 hour every few weeks. This is something no one should endure. I cherished every moment with my son and I felt and continue to feel every second apart from him.
I have a lawyer ready to represent me, and I have saved some money, but it is slow going and my son desperately needs his father. This campaign is to raise the remaining money necessary to pay the lawyer’s retainer fee so that I can fight to have an equal footing in my son's life with me being a part of it. Any donation of any size will help and would be greatly appreciated.
Every child deserves both a mother and a father and that should be nurtured and supported. Providing for children is not only a financial action. It’s also about the connection between child and parent, and that connection is where the true benefits manifest.
I am asking you to please help in any way that you can.
My son needs his father.
I need my son.
The money raised will go completely to counsel. And any remaining money will support the cost of therapy and the cost of the supervised visits.
One day I hope to hear my son run to the tree on Christmas morning. Or to hear how his school day went.
I have missed his learning to ride a bike and his teeth falling out. But there are other milestones he will have, and I want and need to be there for them.
As a father, my life is centered around my child. In his absence, I have suffered every second and still suffer. But I won't ever give up on my son, and I won't ever stop working and trying to get back into his life.
