A few weeks ago, the Guleserian family learned that Bianka is carrying a baby girl with spina bifida. Further testing showed no signs of a chromosomal disorder but did indicate that the baby has the most severe type of spina bifida. This means that Bianka may be a candidate for an in-utero surgery to correct the spinal defect. Because of the extent of the testing to find out if she is even a candidate, she will have to take a leave of absence and spend significant time away from home in San Francisco where the surgery is conducted. Insurance coverage will only go so far, and we are hoping to take as much of a burden off the Guleserians as we can, so any little bit that you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
If you would like more information on the baby's condition and the fetal surgery, you can learn more here: https://fetus.ucsf.edu/spina-bifida.
They have named their baby girl Everly Grace. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
