Biliary Atresia picked the wrong princess!

Everyone who knows the Schulba Family, knows how INCREDIBLE they are! Sweet Everleigh was born with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia. At just 2.5 weeks old, she underwent her first surgery and has bravely endured monthly treatments and hospital stays throughout her first year of life. By 6 months old, we hit a miracle milestone - her biliary conjugated levels dropped to zero. It gave hope that she might not need a transplant after all...But in January, things began to shift. In February, we learned that her liver had developed infected bile lakes and cirrhoses of the liver. Her medical team told us her liver could no longer sustain her body.

In the beginning of August, Everleigh received the incredible news that she was getting a NEW LIVER!!

August 11 was transplant day! While they are seeing improvements post op, there are still many unknowns.
