Everett Free Grocery Program

The Everett Free Grocery Program aims not only to provide access to food and hygienic products, but to build trust and mutual support within the Everett Neighborhood (Lincoln, Nebraska). We aim to approach food distribution from a grassroots model that erases the dividing lines between those who receive resources and those who provide them.

COVID-19 has revealed the importance of helping each other directly, particularly at a time when access to essential resources is uncertain for many and state-funded programs have fallen short in their efforts to provide aid. However, as this disruption is likely to become one of many crises, we are focused on building a long-term weekly grocery program to allow us to take care of one another, strengthen our relationships, and improve our everyday lives.

**As we continue to deal with the COVID-19 crisis, we are taking the utmost precautions to ensure we are minimizing potential spread of contagions and maintaining social distancing. We will wear masks and gloves during distributions, and will reduce contact with folks who receive resources by  pre-preparing bags of resources for folks walking up to our distribution set-up.
