Everesting for a Monastery

Donation protected
The people of Nepal have been struck hard by the countries 75 day lockdown due to the CoronaVirus.  The Locals of the Solukhumbu district have been amazing to me during this time, I wish to thank them by doing an Evereresting ride to help them through this tough period.  Everesting is a cycling challenge which involves riding the same climb, up and down, until you gain 8848 vertical meters.  I will do this ride on the rough 2.8 km, 360M  climb up to the Monastery at 2950 meters above sea level.  I'll ride it 25 times to achieve the height of Everest.  It will likely take 13-15 hours.

The Chiwong Monastery, which is hosting me now as I wait for the Lockdown to lift, takes in children from poor families, and gives them a general education, good food and a place to call home.  Some will stay on to become Lamas, while others may move on. My goal is to raise as much as I can so the Chiwong Monastery can continue to provide such an amazing sanctuary for these Nepali Children in need.   The first $1500  raised will go here.

* If more than $1500 is raised, the donator can pick from three options on where they want their money to go by leaving there choice (s) in the comment box.

A) Chiwong Monastery
B) Tato Khana Sewa
C) Nepal Cycling Training Center

If no comment is left then 50% will go the the Monastery, and 25% to each of the following Organizations in Nepal.

B) Tato Khana Sewa: An organization led by Jenny and Santosh from Himalayan Singletrack, they are providing hot meals to the poor in Kathmandu who are going hungry during this ongoing 75 day lockdown.

C)  Nepal Cycling Training Centre:  This training centre was set up from the Annapurna 24 hour Fundraiser the past 3 years and provides a training centre for Nepal's riders in Kathmandu.  It has indoor trainers, gym equipment, recovery tools, and nutrition for the riders.  The rent is $2400 USD a year, any money left over is used to upkeep the centre, purchase new equipment and then to bring in coaches from outside and to host High Altitude training camps to continue to develop the riders.  This past year Nepal riders swept 5 of the 6 medals in the XCO races at the South Asian Games!  The next step is to get them competing with the top Asian and International riders outside of Nepal.

*If over $4424 is raised (half the height of Everest), then I will bike 1 extra vertical meter for every $1 we go over.

** Any donations of $500 CAD will get a signed World 24HR Champion Jersey (Italy 2017 or Brazil 2019 Edition.
