Feeding America
More than 37 million people struggle to know where their next meal might come from on a daily basis. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, this number is rising at an exponential rate.
Our Mission
We now have an opportunity to come together to support our neighbors across the US in this critical time of need. Our Mission is to raise awareness to the critical importance of Feeding America. And the Everest Challenge is designed to inspire others by replicating the rigorous physical challenges of climbing to summit of Mount Everest. Our passionate group of friends met during college at the University of Notre Dame.
During the 30 days of the Everest Challenge, several of us will be dedicated to completing physical feats, and the remaining members will be leading the donation campaign.
Everest Challenges
Dave: goal to climb flights of stairs equivalent to the elevation of Mount Everest (29,029 feet).
Sean P: goal to run the equivalent distance from Lakla, the closest airport to Everest, to the summit of Everest (52 miles).
John: goal to walk at least 1 mile each day for 8 weeks (the total time from start to finish to climb Everest).
Sean M: goal to walk 30,000 steps per week for 8 weeks (the total time from start to finish to climb Everest).
Steve: goal to bike 100 miles per week
Johnson Family of six (including Teddy, their pet dog): goal to walk at least 1 mile each day for 8 weeks (the total time from start to finish to climb Everest).
Larry: goal to lift 29,029 lbs per week (pound weight equivalent to the elevation of Mount Everest - 29,029 feet)
While we work through our Everest physical challenges, we ask everyone to kindly consider a donation to Feeding America by choosing the “Donate” button. Please be aware that for every $1 donated, you will be feeding 10 people. And if you believe in our Mission, please choose the “Share” button to spread the word.
Thank you for your kind consideration to support the urgent food shortages for so many families across America!
