Everest Basecamp Charity Trek

Hello!

Firstly, a huge thank you for taking time to check out my fundraiser.

In March 2024, myself and 14 others are travelling to Nepal and trekking to Mt Everest Base Camp, one of the world's highest civilisations.

We have 71 miles of trekking ahead, ascending to a height of 5,644m contending with below-freezing conditions, low oxygen levels, possible altitude sickness and little hot water or showers.

No doubt, it will be a trip of a lifetime whilst raising money for two well-deserved charities.

The first charity is Velindre Cancer Centre - https://velindre.nhs.wales/velindrecc/

Velindre is Wales' premier cancer centre providing treatment, care and support to patients and their families. Money raised ables them to support projects over and above those provided by the NHS, including groundbreaking research, specialist equipment, nurses and staff training.

I think it's safe to say we've all know someone who has gone through, or currently going through, treatment for cancer or end-of-life care. Several close friends and family of mine have been treated at Velindre and it is fair to say the support they provide is amazing.

The second charity is Shelter Cymru - https://sheltercymru.org.uk

Shelter Cymru help thousands of people each year across Wales who are affected by the housing emergency by offering information, advice and support to prevent homelessness. I have worked with and raised money for Shelter Cymru for a number of years but with the cost of living crisis continuing to impact Welsh communities, I feel now is more important than ever to raise money for this great cause.
