If you know Evelyn, you know that she is and has always been a person full of love and one who brings laughter and joy to anyone she is around. She enjoys life to its fullest and is willing to move mountains for those she loves. Last June she experienced the most uncomfortable sharp pain in her right breast, and that is when she realized it had been almost 2 years since her last mammogram. She scheduled an appointment immediately, and within 2 weeks, she received a call with every woman's worst nightmare. Evelyn was diagnosed with Invasive Ductual Carcinoma, Breast Cancer. The summer was full of tears, agonizing times and appointments. In August, she underwent a Double Mastectomy, in the hopes that the surgery would be the only treatment needed for her. Unfortunately, 5 weeks after her surgery, she received the 2nd most depressing call, she needed Chemotherapy. For anyone who has experienced this, you know that this is trying to ones body and mental health. The next step is a full reconstruction. This surgery will be very invasive and will require 10 weeks off of work to recover. With already having 5 weeks off in the fall from the 1st surgery and with very little vacation time left, this new surgery will add a hardship and burden to the family mentally and most certainly financially. Let's help Evelyn's family emotionally and financially by donating to pay down some of these astronomical bills that are coming in the mail almost daily. If, you can spare any amount her and her family would be so grateful. In the spirit of all Breast Cancer survivors let's do our part and give back a little hope!!!!
