Hi, my name is Evan, and I am a current Life Scout who will be beginning my Eagle Project at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA.

I currently volunteer at City of Hope in a patient-facing environment, so I see both the administrative side/logistics of the hospital check-in & management system, as well as the patients’ perspectives throughout their entire journey on hospital floors. To further my contribution, I want to add something that will bring a smile to patients’ faces no matter the difficulties they are facing on that particular day.

I plan to create care packages for patients at City of Hope’s Radiation Oncology department, providing a gift to the patients as they await appointments, treatment, and further assessments throughout their long days that can span over 12 hours at a time. Patients usually spend the entire day at City of Hope, from early in the morning to begin clinics and checkups, ending with long transfusions, radiation, and other diagnostics. Some of these patients are alone or don’t have anyone to be with them due to busy schedules, so the care packages provide something for them to do or some comfort.

I'm seeking to raise funds to purchase materials for my project, and any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated. I am grateful for your assistance, and I hope we can work together to make a positive impact for patients facing challenging situations.
