Evan Nettleton Family Support Fund
On Christmas Eve, Evan Nettleton was tragically killed in a car accident while leaving a job site for work. He was not at-fault and no one in the other party was seriously injured.
He leaves behind his wife of 4 and 1/2 years, and their three precious sons: Leland (3), James (2) and Henry (10 months).
His parents, brother, and everyone who knew him are grieving his loss alongside Sabrina this Christmas.
Sabrina has been a stay-at-home mom, raising and taking care of their children, while Evan worked hard to provide for his family that he loved so much. This fundraiser is for them, to support them during this sorrowful time.
Evan was my best friend. I can tell you that without a doubt, he was one of the most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. He loved everyone and his sanguine personality touched so many lives. His love for God, family and his fellow man shone through in everything he did. Whether he was working, volunteering in one of many capacities at his local church, or just enjoying some quality time with his loved ones, he was sincere, passionate, humorous and loving. He was true to everyone and would never hesitate to help someone in need.
He had a profound impact on my life as we grew up together, and I know that hundreds of others can say the same. Words are wholly inadequate to describe what this loss means everyone who knew him.
On Christmas Eve, as the news spread, up until now as I write this, messages have been pouring in non-stop from all over the Sioux City area and well beyond. Here are some individual excerpts to help paint the picture of this amazing man:
"Evan was thoughtful and was everyone's friend."
"You have left a legacy in your boys that Sabrina, your family, and your loved ones at church will continue to nurture and bring to fruition, all that you set in motion."
"Evan, you and Sabrina showed me that there is so much more than the lifestyle I was leaving behind. You both welcomed me and every flaw I had. Helped me to pull myself together and poured God’s love onto me."
"You made everyone laugh and always left them with a nugget of truth that they needed. Beyond your years of wisdom."
"You couldn’t be around Evan without laughing, his joy was contagious."
"There isn't a dry eye in my house. He was my friend. We grew up together. He was my co-worker. We volunteered together. He was like family."
"Evan lived his life, daily, serving Christ unashamed and without looking back."
"Evan Nettleton was a Godly son, a Godly husband, and a remarkable father. Evan was born again. He was a new creature in Christ. He repented of his sins. He lived in obedience to the Word of God."
"I'll never forget your friendship."
"He was everything you could want in a friend. He epitomized brotherly love."
"When we worked together he would always bring joy and laughter. I loved working with him and so many others did as well. He was always present with people; making them feel seen and heard. He loved people well--with all his heart. He is so loved and cherished by many."
This is just a small potion of the many testimonies of Evan's life that have been shared in the last 24 hours.
I humbly ask that you consider donating to this cause in this time of grief. 100% of the proceeds will go to support Evan's beautiful family and expenses they may encounter, resulting from the funeral, or even everyday needs like food and diapers. As Evan was the sole provider for his family, Sabrina and the boys would really benefit from your generosity this Christmas, and even a small gift to show you're thinking of them would mean a lot.
We pray that God will bless the Nettleton family in this time.
Please have a wonderful, merry Christmas, just as Evan would undoubtedly wish for you and your family.
