Update: November 2nd: Today marks one month since Evan sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. He has made progress, but the road ahead is still long and uncertain.We are waiting on neurology consults and follow-up scans, and he will be unable to work for many months. Update: October 22nd: Evan was permitted an evening pass yesterday and has since refused to return to 4C. Since out on pass, he has been happy to be home with his partner and their fur babies. Tess is taking great care of him as he continues his recovery. We hope that with his early release, he continues to improve outside of hospital. He still has a long road ahead of him and will be unable to work for some time. Please donate if you can and continue to share this page. Update: October 20th: Evan was transfered from IMCU today, to 4C. He's been up, ambulating on his own, texting and calling people, and visiting with the nurses. He's still looking to leave, but seems to be more accepting on having to stay until he's better. He's still being treated for his blood clot and cellulitis in both arms. We are still uncertain on what lies ahead, but each day seems better than the last. Please donate if you can and continue to share! Thank You all!

Update: October 16th: Evan had a pretty good day today. He was cooperative for a follow up CT scan, which showed that the bleeds have resolved, the contusions remain, but are no worse than previous scan, and the swelling has gone down considerably! When the neurologist was in today, he told him who we all were, that were there during the visit. He even had his partner call a couple of us later in the day, looking for a drive home! We were so happy to get a phone call from him! He is no where near ready to be discharged yet and still has a long road ahead of him for recovery. They continue to treat his blood clot in his leg and now he is being treated for cellulitis in his arm from the multiple injections needed, to help calm him. Overall, we are so happy with the progress he has made. Please continue to donate and share! Thank you again !

Update: October 15th : Evan has now developed a blood clot in his leg from immobility. They have started treatment to prevent the clot from getting bigger and from developing any new clots. They hope that the clot will dissolve itself. Please pray this treatment works and his clot dissolves. They are initiating a referral to the brain injury unit in Halifax, which could take up to 2 weeks or longer, before there is a bed available. At that time, we are hoping he won't need it, but there is possibility that he may still need to go. Please donate if you can, and share this page. Thank you all !

Update: October 13th : Evan was transfered from ICU to IMCU today, which is progress in itself! He continues to face some challenges, however, he knows all of us, that he's in hospital, as well as other aspects of his life prior to his injury. He will still have a long road to recovery and will not be able to work for sometime. Thank you again, to all the people who have donated, shared this page, called and texted for updates, and have been there for emotional support, as we continue to process all that has happened. Update October 9th

We are the loving family & partner of Evan LeBlanc. We are fundraising for Evan, as he goes through recovery following a Traumatic Brain Injury.

On October 2nd, Evan had a medical issue that caused him to lose consciousness and fall to the pavement. He sustained a few brain bleeds, a contusion and some swelling on the brain. The Doctors feel he does not require surgery at this time and the bleeds should resolve on their own. As a result of the brain bleeds, he was initially placed on a ventilator to decrease the pressure in his brain and help prevent undo stress on the bleeds. The ventilator has since been removed but he remains in ICU at CBRH, under close supervision. We are currently unsure what his recovery will look like. As with any traumatic brain injury, Evan will have a long road ahead of him.

We are requesting any donation amounts to help ease the strain on him, as he recovers.

We are devastated that this has happened to our beloved family member and partner.
