Founded in community, tradition, and service, our Chapter is dedicated to preserving local history while giving back to the Humboldt community. The restoration of Chapter 101's historic 1936 GMC LaFrance Firetruck brings together friends, families, and community partners to support our charitable efforts, while helping fund youth-focused programs and traditions that have connected generations for over a century.
Premier Oil Change has committed to providing preventative maintenance for the Chapter’s historic 1936 GMC LaFrance firetruck. The Chapter is also partnering with J&L Automotive, Rock Rise Consulting, and Francis Enos on a full restoration of this historic fire truck.
We are looking to partner with many local businesses. If you love laughing and learning a bit of local history please contact us. If you wish to share local history, have museums we can visit or tours we can take. Please reach out!!
Our goal is to have the firetruck available for parades, community events, and fundraisers benefiting youth organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods and other local groups.
This includes reviving our annual Easter Egg Hunt, a beloved community tradition we proudly hosted for 38 years before it was halted by the pandemic. We are diligently working to bring this event back this spring.
We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, originally founded on July 23, 1855, and re-established in 1979. Our EIN is 46-1620902.
Thank you for considering supporting our mission, our history, and the community traditions we are proud to preserve. We would be grateful for the opportunity.
Warm Regards
Council of Venerable Greybeards
