Eszter&Nobu's baby

I am writing in support of my amazing childhood friend, Eszter and Nobu’s journey and conquest on the road to have a new addition to their family, with the assistance of IVF.

Eszter and Nobu was blessed to find each other in the summer of 2017 during a magical few days.

After a few years working in education at Loyola Marymount University, Eszter took a risky financial move, learnt a new skill set, and started over working in script supervising. She dedicated this move to her grandmother’s memory, as well as a few fellow Cinematographers and Directors who inspired her. Since then she has joined the union, worked in a number of exciting projects from TV series (The Fix, Station 19) to film, commercials etc.

She’s been eternally grateful to have met Nobu, whom she found a very special connection with; as their relationship progressed, so has their desire to have a family.

Last year, they went through all kinds of testing. In Nov. Eszter had a minor surgery and now fully cleared to move forward with the baby project. At the early 40s, as it’s more challenging and time is of essence, they decided to try mini IVF with a respected specialist, Dr. Lyndon Chang at the Hanabusa clinic in San Diego. This is a Japanese method that is about less medication and milder treatment but still effective for couples over 40. Eszter started acupuncture and now trying to minimize her stress level and fatigue which comes with her job. The cost of one cycle is at least around $15,0000 not covered by insurance, as they are both freelancers and Eszter has no coverage from the union just yet. (A regular IVF can cost $24,000-30,000).

We’d like to see if we could raise $7,500 to help Eszter and Nobu’s efforts. It’s extremely helpful at this time for them, as they are both working hard towards financially stabilizing themselves but not quite there yet.

Thank you for your support, encouraging words and prayers, they mean a lot now more than ever before.

The couple will host a surprise night at their home as a thank you for friends wanting to celebrate the New Year, artistic collaborations and this journey of theirs, sometime in the coming months.

Sending you lots of love,  Eszter and Nobu surely will be happy to keep you posted on how things develop :-).
