Help Esteem Team fundraise for their new premises!

As you may or may not know, I started working for Esteem Team CIC (https://www.esteemteam.co.uk/) in April last year. I have never felt more passionate about my job role and I really love being part of the Esteem team. It is such an important organisation and very much needed in this world today. I really want to help the organisation in any way I can, so I have decided to help fundraise for our new building renovation (DIY SOS).

I am going to walk from Starcross to Exmouth, on April 7th, with family and friends (dipping in and out) to help raise funds for Esteem Team CIC.

Esteem Team are a Community Interest Company that work with children and young people who have additional needs and/or struggle with their mental health. We are made up of a range of professionals who care about children's and young peoples mental health. We want to create a safe and supported environment to allow them the chance to grow and reach their full potential. We are passionate about empowering, enabling and equipping children and young people so that whatever bumps in the road they face, they have their emotional strength, coping strategies and the support network to succeed.

Esteem Team also support Parent/Carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or who struggle with their mental health.

Esteem Team CIC has been working hard to become as inclusive and accessible as possible over the last few years and one big barrier to this has been our current premises, “The Base", which is full of stairs preventing it from being super accessible to all. We are so happy to say that we have found new premises in Exmouth and are very excited about the prospect of a new base with so much potential.

It will have :

Disabled toilet and wheelchair accessible rooms

Larger more usable spaces

Easier drop off/ collection point,

Not many stairs!

A more private space with no communal hallway/stairs

A private family support office

A community space/hall for our information sessions and other community services as well as for a large safe space for young people to enjoy playing outdoor type games in a safe environment.

A small outdoor area

A welcoming front door on the street so our community knows where we are

However, in order to get it looking ready and inviting for all of our young people we have a DIY SOS on our hands. So I am reaching out to all of my family and friends to see if they can help in any way. By donating/sponsoring me whatever you can to this project, it will directly help and support the young people that attend Esteem as well as the parents /carers within our community.
