ESTA goes to Ukraine
Donation protected
For the last year the war in Ukraine has destroyed lives and dreams. Some of those dreams are the dreams of young musicians, unable to play their instruments, benefit from the knowledge of their teachers and discover beautiful repertoire through orchestral performances. They should be hearing the sounds of music rather than feeling the rhythm of the exploding bombs, the stress and the sounds of fighting.
We all know the importance of a calm, environment for healthy development in childhood and are acutely aware how impossible this is for children in Ukraine at the moment. So the European String Teachers Association decided to set up a campaign to raise for a string orchestra course in Kiev for 50 young musicians from all over Ukraine. Funds will be used to find safe places for rehearsals and concerts, accommodation for those who come from outside Kiev and also to provide meals in order to achieve the best environment possible away from the dangers and stress caused by this horrible war.
In September, Members of the Central Board of ESTA will spend one week in Ukraine to rehearse Ukrainian children for a special concert to show solidarity with their refugees and with those who are still living in this country. As a European non-governmental organization we aim to show how music can bind us together and inspire the next generation. Now we are inviting YOU to share and support this much needed project with individual donations. This project can only be achieved with the help of you all. We are grateful for the opportunity to have your support, giving some hope to our friends, who are experiencing a terrible and life changing situation.
