My name is Santi Bluhm, and I am currently an A-level student at Brighton College. For the past two summers, I have volunteered as an English teacher at the Jeison Aristizábal Foundation in Cali, Colombia. Located in one of the city's most underserved areas, the foundation provides vital specialist care and education for young people living with physical and neurological disabilities. Jeison is a truly amazing person. Born into extreme poverty and with cerebral palsy, he overcame seemingly unsurmountable challenges to qualify as a lawyer and social communicator. Today his foundation supports nearly 2,000 people every month.

During my time there, I worked directly with students in their classrooms and joined them in their daily activities. I have seen firsthand how much a dedicated community can transform a young person’s future, but I’ve also seen how much they struggle without the right equipment.

I’ve started this fundraiser to address an urgent need for wheelchairs, strollers, walking canes, and essential digital learning tools. For many of us, these items are easy to take for granted, but for these students, they are the keys to freedom. Every donation goes directly toward restoring mobility and unlocking the education these young people need to build independent lives.
