Hi,

We are Portarlington 4th Laois Scouts and have been existence since 1991, however, the Group ceased to exist when COVID struck. The Scout Den on Main Street lay idol for over 2 years and fell into a state of disrepair.The Group was re-established in 2022 and has grown from strength to strength with now nearly 40 kids and 10 adult volunteers. We have an active winter programme in our Scouting Den but the oil boiler has failed.We attempted to have it repaired but were told it is over 20 years old and beyond repair. It is essential we get a new boiler to continue to provide a safe facility for so many children to get out and socialise while learning vital life skills that will enable them grow and develop into contributing members of society and the local community. We kindly ask that you give whatever you can do that we can get the new boiler and continue to offer this outlet to our local children.
