Essential repairs for Bulkington Community Centre

At the moment we have been quoted £12,000 + VAT to replace the gas pipe from the meter house to the main building but we are working hard to source new quotes at the moment.
The problem is the work needs to be completed as a matter of urgency. The infrastructure of our building is very old and fundamentally the gas pipes will have been in place for over 82 years.
Having no gas or heating is having a huge impact on us and the people that access our services. For example, on Tuesday we had to turn people away that had turned up for lunch at the community cafe.
We are 99% self funded and every time something goes wrong with the building, we are liable for the costs. Bulkington is considered an affluent area and therefore we attract NO funding as there is felt to be other areas in the Borough that need funding more than we do. Every year, whatever money we make at the centre is ploughed back in to maintain and improve facilities - we often have to replace flat roofs, resurface car parks, rectify drainage issues etc. Any monies that could be raised could go towards rectifying the issues we are experiencing at the moment with the gas supply and the support from local people has been amazing!
