Essential Kits For The BK Houseless Community
Hey y’all! Welcome to Swelter! ✨ Lemme laceyou up on who we are and what we do! For Girls Like Me is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit aimed at supporting women and non-binary people of color. This year, we are focusing on the houseless community of BK. This summer we raised $$2,500 and distributed 180 kits with essentials and feels goods throughout the Brooklyn borough. We’ve extended our goal to $5,000 to continue supplying solace and a bit of joy throughout the fall season. Please join us in furthering our mission of showing up for the houseless community! For every $5 donated, you receive a ticket for a $5 montauk. Find the girl in the white cowboy boots for a ticket! And remember,ALL hotties donate!!!

During the summer, For Girls Like Me distributed 180 kits to shelters and community spaces throughout Brooklyn. We saw firsthand just how these kits greatly impacted the people that received these essentials & feel goods. We're doubling our efforts to raise $5,000 to continue providing relief & aid to the houseless community of Brooklyn in preparation of winter. Each kit will still cost $13 to make and will include a slight variation from the kits created in June. Thicker socks, hand warmers, and long sleeve t shirts will supplement a few of the seasonal items. Please join us in furthering our mission of supporting the houseless community and girls like us.

As we enter the summer months, it's time to show up for Brooklyn's houseless community and those who are at risk of experiencing houselessness. Each kit costs $13. Our goal is to create 180 kits each month and disperse them throughout the Brooklyn area.
