Our community in the north metro, including families connected to the Spring Lake Park School District, is facing a quiet but very real crisis.
Over the past weeks, an increased ICE presence has created fear, disruption, and sudden instability for many of our neighbors. Families are staying home because leaving the house feels unsafe. Parents are unable to work. Children are missing school routines. Families who were already living close to the edge are now struggling to meet their most basic needs — not because they don’t want to work, but because circumstances beyond their control have taken that choice away.
This fundraiser exists to help in a very practical, human way.
The funds raised here will go directly toward essential needs for people in our local community who need it most: groceries, rent, utilities, transportation, and other necessities that keep families safe and stable during this period. These are not abstract problems; they are choices no family should have to make, like whether to buy food or keep the lights on.
Many of the individuals and families we aim to support are deeply rooted here. They are parents of children in our schools. They are neighbors you pass at the grocery store, wave to at pickup, or sit next to at school events.
