Esperanza Wilson: The bright Evening Star of Hope

My name is Stuart Salazar, and I've had the privilege and honor to work with and serve with the pictured young lady in our beloved Marine Corps. She has always had the ability to brighten the day for everyone around her, always giving more than she received, but always giving happily and never asking for anything in return.

In our lives, there are very few bright shining stars that come into our lives and make an impact. This young lady did that for me and impacted my life, my career, and influenced how I handled others in my life. Her name is Esperanza Wilson (Esperanza Rios), mother of two wonderful children and the loving wife of Rolando Wilson.

This young lady has been battled colon cancer for the last few years and currently in the prime of her life at age 37, her battle has come to an end. After taking hospice with her family and loved ones, she was taken from us on May 21, 2025 at 9:45 pm. We will miss her but remember her. Love and strength to her loving husband and wonderful children. I’m asking for donations from the heart to ensure that this family understands that their wife and mother had an impact on others and made this world a better place. To show those children that their mother made a difference! These funds will go to assist this wonderful young family in their time of need. I can only offer a thank you to each and every one of you! These funds will be donated to a cancer organization and also to support Esperanza’s family through this difficult time.
