Hi everyone, my name is Esmae, and next summer my school is offering an incredible opportunity to travel to Peru for 4 weeks with Camp International. It costs £5,250 and as part of the experience we have to fundraise the money. This isn’t a holiday — it’s a chance to make a real, lasting impact in communities that are less fortunate.

During my time in Peru, I’ll be working alongside local people and other volunteers on projects that include:

• Building and improving community facilities. Such as toilets to help improve sanitation.

• Assisting to build green houses to support sustainable food production.

• Improve infrastructure and provide safe and productive learning environments for local children.

• Plastering, painting and low level construction alongside local trades people.

It also includes a five day trek to Machu Picchu. Where we will be taking the Salkantay Trek route, journeying through the Andes mountains.

This experience means so much to me. I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, learn new skills, grow, and give back — and I’m determined to put in the hard work to help make life better for the people I meet.

To take part in this project, I need to raise funds to cover the cost of travel, accommodation and equipment. Any donation, big or small, will bring me one step closer to being able to help the people of Peru and take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity.
