In September 2021, 3-year-old Kabod Eshetu went to the hospital with a distended, sore belly. By God's grace, an Emergency Department doctor recognized the symptoms. He was quickly diagnosed with leukemia and started treatment right away.

 

Kabod is so brave, and he has endured so much. He is such a fighter, and we are so proud of him! The doctors, nurses and staff have been amazing! Unfortunately, the cancer has not responded to the treatments. The family has decided it is time to stop treatment and spend time together. We believe that God can heal Kabod.

 

The Eshetu family is on the Ontario Disability Benefit Program (ODSP) as Kabod’s father, Worku, was injured in an accident before their family came to Canada as refugees. He was left paralyzed, and his wife, Genet, became his primary caregiver.

 

With a minimal income, any extra expense is very challenging to manage. There have been many costs that have come up in the care of Kabod and his family. We want to help cover these extra expenses.
