John Davidick Liver Transplant Fund
Donation protected
John Davidick is a determined, selfless and humble young man of 23 years. When he was 16, he was diagnosed with PSC, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis as well as 3 other overlapping autoimmune diseases. If you know John, you might not have even known about his disease as he tried to maintain a “normal” young adult life, attending Roanoke College, studying and spending time at the gym. He has shown us all the importance of not giving up and raising the bar high, leaving no excuses for the rest of us to be nothing but our very best.
On March 29th, John and his mom, Sherryl underwent surgeries as Sherryl was a perfect match for a living donor transplant. Sherryl continues to recuperate as expected. John suffered a setback and required a second surgery on April 5th. Unfortunately, a blood clot developed in the hepatic artery and damaged his new liver. His medical care team feels that the best long-term outcome would be to receive a full liver transplant. As we wait for this scenario to come forth, we know that the Davidick family is staying in a hotel near the UVA Medical Center while John remains in ICU and/or the transplant unit.
Because they are incurring extra expenses now and will be in the months to come, we would like you to consider donating. There is no amount too small to express our support and love. This is an opportunity to show John and the entire Davidick family how they have inspired us with faith, determination and perseverance throughout their journey. Any leftover monies will be donated to the UVA Transplant Center.
