Subject: Community Effort: Erosion Control at Chester Gap & Forest Drive Intersection

Dear Chester Gap residents,

My name is Billy Willard, and I am reaching out to the community regarding a persistent issue with erosion at the intersection of Chester Gap Road and Forest Drive.

After contacting VDOT, I learned that while the state cannot provide the necessary materials for this private drive, they have agreed to install a new drainage pipe if our community can secure it. VDOT has recommended an 18-inch by 40-foot pipe, which costs approximately $800.

To move this project forward, I have committed to covering $200 of the cost. We are now seeking the community's help to raise the remaining $600.

A new pipe at this intersection will be a great benefit to everyone who uses it, as it will prevent the significant erosion that occurs during heavy rain. We will handle the purchase and delivery of the pipe as soon as the funds are secured.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated and will directly benefit our community.
