I am on a challenging and rewarding spiritual service journey. It has brought me to Seminary in New York City, Chaplaincy at Mount Sinai Hospital, and now I would like to put my studies and preparation for spiritual service into action to provide sanctuary for children in Sri Lanka.
TRIP Canada is making their 13th journey to Sri Lanka in April and I will join them, putting my time, talent, and labor into building an orphanage started by Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, Rev. Pangnasara.
TRIP Canada’s website: “The project that TRIP Canada is working on for the next few years is very exciting and our most ambitious venture since we built the village for survivors of the devastating 2004 tsunami. We are committed to help finish construction of an orphanage near Tangalle, Sri Lanka that was started for kids who lost their families in the tsunami…In its first phase the orphanage housed up to 24 boys and girls and it’s managed by an on-site staff. The children attend a nearby public school that is funded by the government...When we are done 60 children will be able to live in a safe nurturing environment with the opportunity for a much brighter future.” (more about the orphanage here https://tripca.org/2016/04/12/rev-pangnasara-and-the-canadapura-orphanage/)
This is the first opportunity I have to take my work to a global level and I am grateful for any support you may be able to provide
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I appreciate your love and support in this fundraiser. This trip means so much to me and you are not just investing in my own experience but what these little tiny elf-hands and big heart can bring to this group. Thank you. This world needs more love and compassion and I look forward to being an ambassador for both.
