Eric’s First Half and Fundraiser for Blackstar

Running has always been intimidating since I was a kid with asthma. I ran my first mile in grade school at a 16 minute pace. The idea of a race is even more intimidating. I ran 3 miles and can’t believe I’ll make 13. My girlfriend’s passion for running has inspired me to sign up for the Thrive San Diego Half Marathon in November, to push myself and to fundraise for an organization that I believe in. By setting up this GoFundMe, I am challenging myself to complete a race and hopefully run more in the future.

Over the last year and a half I’ve been working with BlackStar which is an incredible organization working to uplift the works of underrepresented artists. Any contribution would be appreciated and also to check out the annual film festival and other programs they are putting out. My goal is to raise $2,620, or $200 per mile.
