Hi everyone, for those that don’t know me, my name is Courtney and I’m a single mom to three beautiful boys. Recently my youngest boy, Theo got really sick back to back with two different viruses. First the Rhino virus which for him was not just a nasty cold, he kept a high fever and his right lung had a spot that wasn't inflating all the way and as he was recovering he spiked another high fever which prompted me to take him to the hospital where he tested positive with the adenovirus. During this time frame he had to have bloodwork done several times because because his fevers were getting up to 103 or close to 103 so the drs were keeping a close eye out for any kind of infections hiding out anywhere. In doing this we discovered his neutrophils dropping which can happen as your body is trying to fight off any infection you may have.

So after recovering fully from both illnesses I took him back to the Dr for more bloodwork to see if his neutrophils were building back up and they are but at a very slow rate. Last week his neutrophils were at 790 and as of today they were at 800. Theos neutrophils should 1200-1500. With them being so low he could pick up another illness very easily and he could get very sick since he doesn’t have the fighting white blood cells he needs.

His Dr sent off his bloodwork today to saint judes so the blood specialist there could look at it and hopefully guide us in the right direction (she is not worried about cancer❤️) In saying all of this, I have been out of work since July 21, 2025 and it’s looking like I’ll be out of work for another month while his neutrophils build back up as we may need to wait another 3-4 weeks before checking again. I am a single mom through and through. I am the provider and care taker of my children. I do not come from money and I work my butt off so my children don’t ever go without and now I’m in spot to where I can’t work because I rely on childcare so I can make money for my family but with Theo so vulnerable to Illness it is high risk to have him in childcare right now. so I am staying home and caring for him.

I’m hoping to reach $5,000. That would help pay for expenses I’m behind on from being out last month and keeping our bills paid this month along with necessary expenses such as diapers, wipes, toilet paper, ect…I am grateful for anything. ❤️
