Equipment for Volunteer Fire Dept.

Donation protected
Rosedale Fire Dept. is a small local volunteer fire department in Hanson County in south central South Dakota. We serve an area of about 600 people and multiple family farms in the surrounding community. We have 18 volunteer members on board that offer their time and services to protect the public. The safety and well being of our members is foremost on the department's agenda. Our equipment is old and not reliable anymore. Right now, with the summer dry spells that are common in South Dakota, we are in desperate need for a newer grass-brush rig. The one we operate now is from the early 90s. (see picture, right now it's in the shop needing repairs that are not feasible) It is not very dependable and safe anymore for quick deployments. Our oxygen air pack tanks that we use to go into burning buildings are near their end of life too. End of this year they can not be filled anymore. Being we are volunteer we do not charge when helping out the community, so our funds are very limited. We have tried multiple times to apply for a Federal Grant to help pay for that equipment with no luck. The price of new equipment we need is around $200,000. We would be more than happy to buy  good used equipment for under $100,000. On behalf of me, the Chief of Rosedale Fire, our members,  and the local community, we would be forever thankful to you for your help in any way that you can, for helping our awesome firemen and our local community. Thank you much for everything. Contact George (605) [phone redacted] or Dennis (605) [phone redacted] for more info.
