Hi! My name is Kaden Townsend, and I’m a biomedical engineering student at the University of Iowa with a deep commitment to both healthcare and service. As President of the ANKLE Pre-Podiatric Society, I’m proud to announce our newest initiative: a free monthly podiatry clinic at the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic, starting July 7, 2025.

Our mission in ANKLE is to provide education, outreach, and real-world experiences for students passionate about foot and ankle health. Through this clinic, we’re expanding that mission to serve some of the most vulnerable members of our community—offering nail and callus care, ingrown toenail relief, and diabetic/neuropathic foot education for patients who may otherwise go without.

We are honored to be partnering with Dr. Rebecca Burmeister, a compassionate and skilled podiatrist who is generously volunteering her time to provide expert care at each clinic.

Unfortunately, our initial funding request through the University of Iowa’s Undergraduate Student Government was denied. We’re now seeking your help to raise funds for the essential tools and supplies needed to run this clinic: sterile instruments, dressings, and more.

Your support will directly impact our ability to deliver free, quality podiatric care to those in need. Every dollar helps us move closer to our vision of healthier feet and empowered lives.
