Hello family and friends!
For the past several months I have completed coursework and training on the road to becoming a volunteer Search and Rescue Responder. My whole life I have been obsessed with learning new skills and finding ways to solve problems with them. Many of my interests and professional abilities as an operations manager put me in a good position to help others in SAR situations. I'm one practical fieldwork exercise away from being deployable, which will be completed in the next few weeks.
In a time where it seems like all that gets attention is bad news, I want to put my energy into making a positive impact in my community. As Mr. Rogers said: "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."
Something that isn't well known is that almost all Search and Rescue volunteers are required to purchase their own equipment. Some things are provided by organizations, but it varies. Naturally, I would like to have quality equipment that I can depend on in the field and gives me the best odds for success. That is why I'm asking for donations from my friends and family, to help fund these personal equipment purchases.
Thank you, and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me.
Stay safe,
Dalton
