In September, my husband was deported when our youngest baby was only three weeks old. He was taken from our scheduled immigration interview, and overnight our lives changed. He has no criminal record of any kind — not even a traffic violation — only an immigration case. Suddenly, I was left caring for our five children alone while our family was torn apart.
We sold our dream home, placed everything we owned into storage in Alabama, and spent months in central Mexico with his family while I searched for a way to rebuild. Supporting a family of seven where he is from is incredibly difficult, so I made the decision to relocate to the Tijuana area so I can work as a nurse in Southern California while living in Mexico with my husband and children.
I recently flew to Alabama, packed up our storage unit, drove a U-Haul across the country, and start my new job next week. We are so close to being reunited — but I still need help covering temporary transportation until my husband can bring my car, first month’s rent, two security deposits, and basic necessities so we can finally live together again.
Being separated from my husband and children has been heartbreaking. If you are able, please consider donating — any amount truly helps. If you can’t give, please share this fundraiser. Sharing our story brings us one step closer to having our family under one roof again.
Thank you for standing with us and helping reunite our family.
