We're EPiC HOPE, a suicide prevention organisation based in Wigan and Leigh. We run safe, welcoming spaces called Harbours, where people experiencing suicidal thoughts or mental health crisis can walk in and receive peer-led support without judgement, waiting lists or referrals.
In the next 6 months, we're taking on an ambitious challenge, to raise £50,000 through our EPiC 50 campaign. This will help us continue providing life-saving support and open more crisis spaces across Greater Manchester.
Sadly, suicide is still one of the leading causes of death in the UK, and we know from experience that just one safe space, one conversation, or one small act of kindness can save a life.
Every penny raised will help:
- Keep our Crisis Harbours open longer hours
- Train and support more Peer Supporters
- Provide postvention support to people bereaved by suicide
- Reach those most at risk, faster
- Run community events and workshops that break the stigma
EPiC 50 is more than just a fundraiser, it’s a movement for hope. Over the next 6 months, we’ll be hosting everything from:
- Sponsored walks
- Car washes
- Quiz nights
- Gala events
- Workplace fundraisers
- Bake sales
- Individual challenges like “50 miles in a month”
