Mrs. Berry's Trip to Uganda

Hello friends, I think you are all aware of my work with the Sister Schools organization. For over ten years I have worked with this group to collect, with the help of my school Fernwood Elementary, school supplies for the children of Uganda. I'm sure you are also aware of the Sister Schools Benefit Concerts that I have put on with the help of many of my students, family and friends. Over those many years we have raised more than $20,0000 to build literacy centers, provide school desks and chairs, and to build a bathroom and shower facility for the girls at Mokono Boarding School.

Every year I have a concert I am asked, "When are you going to Uganda?? You need to go!!!" Each year my response has been, "when I'm ready". Well, friends, I'm ready!

In April, I'll be joining the Sister Schools' team in their annual pilgrimage to Uganda. We'll be distributing the school supplies that the children of Bothell and the Seattle area have so generously donated and I'll visit the the three literacy centers that Fernwood has helped build. I also hope that I will get to sing, dance and play music with the children of Uganda. I'll bet they teach me a thing or two!

Upon my return I will share my experiences with you and my own students, so that all of us will better understand the impact that we have had on the lives of the children of Uganda.

Asking for help is hard but, these kind of trips are expensive. So if you have a "little extra" to help me fund this trip I would be most grateful.
