Envisioning More for People with Disabilities

Tax deductible
We value all people with disabilities, their life goals, and their inclusion and belonging in everyday life. And we know that everyone benefits when we recognize and celebrate the unique strengths and perspectives that people with disabilities bring to our lives. That's why we have been so supportive of Envision Unlimited, a wonderful organization that has been helping care for our siblings for many years.

We feel so strongly about the impact Envision Unlimited has on people with intellectual, developmental and psychiatric disabilities that we are board members as well as family members.

When we see someone making insensitive and insulting comments about the very people and families that we serve, we take a stand. And recently that meant we parted ways with a major contributor whose words and actions were inconsistent with our mission and values.

This means that we need to make up a large gap in our fundraising this departure created to continue to support services and care for thousands of members (how clients prefer to be known) and their caregivers.

Right now, we are in the process of opening new homes in the community so more people with disabilities can live to their fullest potential. Our completely accessible home for people with physical disabilities will allow older members to age in place, and many other people transitioning out of state run institutions will find a safe, fully supportive home in a real community. Donations will go towards furnishing six homes, including appliances and furniture, housewares, bedding and curtains, as well as night stands, wall hangings, picture frames and all the touches that make a place truly a home.

Our initial goal is $100,000. When we make that we have received an anonymous donation of $100,000 to match it!

Your support at any level is welcome. Help us close our financial gap and send a message that everyone, especially those who live with disabilities, deserves to be treated with the utmost respect and decency.

On behalf of our siblings and Envision Unlimited, thank you!
