This is an often-heard refrain at Davis Foot Comfort Center (aka Davis Shoe Therapeutics) in San Francisco, CA.
Considered by many to be the ultimate and last hope for staying on their feet and keeping mobile, Arnie Davis, C.Ped. has been nationally renowned for over 40 years for helping people with mobility complications. Many people suffering from debilitating foot issues, such as traumatic injuries, birth defects, diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and strokes, and even just common problems of hard-to-fit feet, degeneration and aging, come to Davis Foot Comfort Center to address their foot and mobility issues.
Orthopedic shoemaking is a dying art, and Arnie is acutely aware of the lack of practitioners and facilities capable of helping the many clients who so rely on him.
Nearing retirement, and with limiting health issues of his own,
Arnie is all too aware of the special needs of the people he helps. While still able, he would like to pass on his specialized knowledge and skills to someone who can carry on this important and necessary work.
Finding the perfect candidate to step right into Arnie's role is a long shot, so we decided it would be more realistic to groom someone locally with just the right aptitude, which includes creativity, hand skills, intelligence, empathy and youth.
We are very excited to have found the perfect person to eventually fill Arnie's shoes! This campaign was launched to provide the funds necessary to hire and extensively train Arnie's protege.
Funds raised in this campaign will provide:
-- One year's salary and benefits
-- Required out-of-state pedorthic courses and certification
-- Cash flow to offset reduced revenues during intensive in-house training.
