Walk in shower for Rocky to avoid falls

Hi. I am Rocky and my wife is Jan. Both of us will be 71 this year. Jan is the senior, her birthday being in May and mine in July.

I am disabled and have problems stepping over the side of the tub to take a shower. We need to have the tub replaced with a walk in shower and the best estimate we have received so far is $17,500 plus tax and delivery fees. That is why our goal is currently $19,000.

The VA has helped with making things easier for me. They have had a wheel chair ramp installed. Supplied me with a senior walker and a wheel chair. Things to make it less difficult in the bathroom such as an additional grab bar and toiled seat riser. And medications to help keep me going.

I have nearly fallen many times. It hasn't happened yet (thanks be to God). And I really don't want to end up in the ER.

Jan doesn't want to admit it, but she is getting older as well. She may be wiser (older yet wiser) but her body is not as spry as it once was.

Our goal is to get this done by early summer. The sooner the better.
