Ensure a Fair Future for Rilynn and Our Family

As many of you know, Rilynn's Dad and I have been back in the family court system. After 14 months as a self-represented litigant, our new custody order is that Rilynn's Dad is the primary residential parent. We were both awarded joint legal decision making, and Rilynn is practicing an out-of-state parenting plan with myself and her brothers.

Unfortunately, since I am not an attorney, there were issues that were not discussed, objected to properly, or overlooked, etc. Due to this, there is no holiday parenting plan (this means there is no schedule for any holidays) , a discrepancy in the summer parenting time (one line states 6 weeks another states 8), and there are errors, including, but not limited to back child support (this occurred because of false testimony, not by me, and not enough time in court for my documents to be admitted.) There is no communication plan which allows room for negative experiences and little to no information regarding our daughter. Among other things, these inconsistencies and errors need to be remedied.

Although I am proud of myself for what I’ve learned and the work I have done, and for Rilynn to hopefully know someday, that I did all I could do, I need an attorney to close this chapter. I have found a knowledgeable and financially reasonable family law attorney who specializes in the grey areas of our case. I’m moving forward in our lives, I can’t look back anymore but I do need measures in place that best serve my children and I going forward.

It comes with great discomfort to be here again and to ask for help, but the worst anyone can say is no. Thank you everyone for your support.
