Those in power do not have our backs
So far during this pandemic the government has failed to provide any meaningful support for renters, refused to legislate to prevent an upcoming tidal wave of evictions, and have contributed to over 100,000 people dying from coronavirus.
Between the continued threat of the pandemic, financial hardship and the loneliness and frustration of yet another lockdown, in many ways 2021 will be harder than last year for ordinary people like us.
We’re all angry and we’re all fed up; but we know where the power truly lies: is is with us in our communities when we stand up and fight back.
Now, more than ever, we need to have each other's backs
By working together we doubled in size last year and now have amazing groups established in 25 towns and cities. In 2021 we need to build a powerful ACORN support network in every community.
People across the country are coming together to build ACORN groups where they live, and as an organisation we’re overwhelmed with demand. No-one should struggle alone, and we cannot afford to wait. To be able to give the training and support that these areas need, we need boots on the ground, and we need them now. We need to spread the word. All this takes money.
We’re over half way to our goal of raising £6000 to help us keep people in their homes during the pandemic.
