Simply Being Sangha Stupa Appeal
Donation protected
The Simply Being Sangha of James Low is coming together to build a stupa in Sussex, England.
Members of James Low’s SB Sangha are liaising with Damtsig Dorje Lama (also known as Samaya Bajra Lama) who has started preparations in Nepal. We are sponsoring an invitation to the Lama and 2 assistants to come to England to build a stupa here this summer, 2025. Already various contents are being gathered and prepared. We expect this will take about 4 weeks to prepare and build. The size will be in harmony with the rural landscape.
Damtsig Dorje Lama has already built many stupas around the world, in accordance with the instructions of his guru, the late Chatral Rinpoche. Our stupa is a style called ‘enlightenment stupa’. It will have a copper filial and will contain precious and symbolic objects, including relics from the late CR Lama (Chimed Rigdzin Rinpoche). A statue of Padmasambhava is being made to go inside.
Stupas are powerful and symbolic structures. Buddhist sutras describe the many merits in helping to build a stupa. It is said that stupas are so powerful that all sentient beings who come in contact with a stupa accumulate merit, even if they did not help create the stupa!
Let’s work together to bring positive energy to this troubled word, at this troubled time.
One way you can help is by making a donation using this link. We estimate that it may require £30,000.
Your donation (to Deja Hu) is directed to the bank account of Huw Wyn Williams. The stupa will be built in Sussex on Huw's land and we hope it will establish this as a place for Buddhist and Dzogchen retreats, meditation and practice and for all James Low's Simply Being Sangha to visit. For 20+ years Huw has hosted the annual summer camping retreats of James Low in Sussex, England. We hope that the benefit from the stupa and practice will be for all beings, beyond human, for many lifetimes with great benefit for liberation and a place of peace for all to benefit.
