During the first Indian Lockdown we managed to feed up to 700 people a night and 200 Sadhus for 4 months. Lockdown 2.0 is happening in India and many people are becoming increasingly desperate especially the Sadhus (holy men and women) who rely on begging which is now not possible for them. We aim to offer a meal every night to up to 700 beings. A meal consists of dahl, rice and 2 roti. One meal prepared in bulk is 50p. The Nar Seva Trust is basically a family: grandfather, father and four sons and other volunteers who have taken this service on, working out of a large garage. I know them all personally and have spent several months working with them getting food to those in need. At the moment I am in UK and I am responding to their heartfelt request for funds.The funds will come to me and be transferred to the Nar Seva Trust in Rishikesh. I was previously the treasurer and all accounting is fully transparent. The video attached to this request we made during the first Lockdown but everything is the same what it does not show is the ordinary citizens who we will also be feeding with your kind help. They have already started distributing food but the demand is so high that they have run out of money, all donations go directly to the effort. £5000 should feed 500 for 100 days.  As always it is the poorest who get hardest hit. Emergency Food for Sadhus and friends in India

Omer Makessa was a bright and brilliant musician, percussionist, and guitarist who touched many people around the world with his unique sound. He was from Martinique, an island with a vibrant multi-cultural music scene. Omer grew up in a musical family, introduced to music by his father from a young age. The mellow Caribbean island vibes would forever weave their way into his joyful, gentle, and uplifting tone. In his early twenties, he moved to France where he came into contact with music from all over the world, especially West Africa. Later on, he moved to Bristol, finding inspiration and connections in the cities colourful creative cocoon. His music was infused with stories and tales gathered along an adventurous lifetime of journeying and sharing. It was a distinctive sound that celebrated a meeting between the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa with plenty more to hear. He played with many bands including Mankala, Kayali Roots, and Kanella Collective, spreading his message of peace and love. He has left us all with sweet memories of his melodies. We'll be holding an online Open Mic Tribute to Omer on Friday 19th February 7 pm. Radek Ditrych, Chloe Rose Lang, Mike Statton and Denise Rowe will be hosting the evening and playing some of his songs. Will Lord's Prehistoric Adventure

In Spring 2020 many people across the world faced a financial crisis as the coronavirus lockdown took effect.  Live music venues closed with many musicians being effected, events, workshop leaders and many in our industry are facing a crisis with no help from the government, often falling outside their models of support. Wonderland is responding by bringing together Into the Wild Festival, Wider Horizons and Aniwa to create an amazing weekend of music, talks, workshops, storytelling and lots more.  More details of the festival are on: <a href="http://www.wonderlandfestival.org">www.wonderlandfestival.org</a> By contributing to this event, you will ensure that proceeds go to artists, musicians, speakers, organisations and indigenous peoples to support them at this time.  It is our intention that the Festival also creates a potent sense of solidarity and community, showcasing the power of authentic and intimate creative offerings to soothe our souls and reflect our emotions  at a time of great uncertainty. We originally thought of creating a ticketing system but on reflection would rather offer the festival on a donation basis, so that anyone can join in and its available to people all over the world. Navajo & Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief Fund

The San people of southern Africa, believed to be the longest surviving culture on earth by tens of thousands of years and the last tribe on earth to pursue the persistence hunt, have faced centuries of oppression and marginalisation. The Ju’/hoansi, the San people living in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy, now face a critical struggle against tuberculosis, a treatable and preventable disease. This crowdfunder aims to raise money to support local efforts to beat this disease. The money raised will pay for projects which provide vital food, information and testing which is necessary to eliminate TB and support good recovery. The projects had a private funder, but she recently died, and government and NGOs have not picked up the funding shortfall. In addition, the collapse of tourism in the Nyae Nyae due to COVID19 has caused a major fall in local income, meaning this crowdfunder is more important than ever.  <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/47805922_158840726446830_r.jpeg" alt="47805922_158840726446830_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /> The San culture is under threat from many directions, but TB is particularly dangerous. It is the leading cause of death from any infectious disease worldwide and there are four strains of TB in the region. Government funding pays for medicines distributed by the clinic in Tsumkwe, which serves the whole of the Nyae Nyae. However, this funding does not provide accommodation or food. There is a separate soup kitchen project which provides nutritious meals twice a day in Tsumkwe to TB patients, but it is facing massive funding cuts. The soup kitchen urgently requires £500 a month to continue to provide this vital service. Funding is also desperately required for an outreach team that carries out testing and education in the remote villages. As we've learned from COVID19, testing is an important part of controlling infectious disease. The outreach team can identify the disease in the early stages, which limits the spread of infection within the villages. This outreach team requires £300 a month to operate. Since TB flares up when people are malnourished or otherwise immuno-compromised, the longer term aim is to tackle food security.  One vision to do this is to support the San to create gardens and food forests within each of the 39 villages in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy.  Seeds, fencing materials and tree saplings are needed to establish a garden in each of them. If we exceed our fundraising target, the additional money will be put towards these gardens and forests. Their territories span Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. In the last few centuries the nomadic lives these people led have been dramatically transformed through waves of colonialism and marginalisation that has put pressures on their land, and many are now settled in villages or only semi-nomadic. <iframe media_type="0" media_id="826HMLoiE_o" class="youtube-replace" title="YouTube video player" style="margin-bottom:20px;width:560px;height:315px;" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/826HMLoiE_o/?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"></iframe> Amongst the San are some of the best trackers and hunters in the world. Men and women can still walk into the bush with their digging sticks and come out with forage hides laden with food. However, their shrinking territory and the fact that they are settled in villages, means living off foraging and hunting alone is not enough. Money, necessary to supplement limited hunting and foraging, is hard to come by. The main sources of income are searching in the desert for the Devil’s Claw plant and tourism. With COVID19, it will be a long time before tourism returns to the Kalahari.  About us We are a group of people passionate about supporting the Ju'/hoansi as many of us have spent time with them through the Old Way and / or Wildwise over the last few years. Turning the tide on TB: Supporting the San Bushman

Andrew Bosher was taken by immigration police in London, UK from his home a week ago with no warning and forced to leave everything behind. He is currently being held in Gatwick Tinsley House Detainment center and will be flown back to the USA soon. As he was not planning for such a thing in his life, as a result he has very little money and will be returning to the USA to start afresh with not much in his pocket. He’s been a dear friend and supporter in the community to many here in the UK. Always offering his reflexology, foraging and practical help to many. To know he had a bit of a cushion which was provided by his UK community would blow him away!! As I know he is concerned about how his financially gonna swing it when he lands! The monies raised will go towards helping him have his belongings shipped from the UK to the USA and to have some cash in his pocket so he can start life again on USA soil with some ease; and not in shock and stress.  Let us show  him through this fundraiser that his UK friends have his back. And we’re here to support. He has done nothing wrong. Just a case of immigration in this country.
