With all of the tragic events Texans have endured this week with our weather conditions and power outages, what you don't plan on is to lose your husband due to hyperthermia while trying to find an oxygen tank for air. While my mother mopped up water from busting pipes, my father tried to get the generator going so they could use the shop vac to get water sucked up. In the process, he ran out of oxygen and died in his vehicle alone in 19 degree weather in just the blink of an eye. My parents were on fixed income, so as you can imagine, my mom is not prepared for any of this.
