Hi, I’m Aimee and I am so excited at the prospect of going to South Africa to volunteer, having not been able to go back since 2019!!!

I was due to go to Nkomo Volunteer program for 8 weeks in April 2020.. you can imagine why that didn’t work out. If you’d have told the version of me in 2020 that ‘no Aimee, you’re not gonna go to South Africa this year at all’ I’d have been GUTTED. To be sat here almost 5 years to the day that I found out that everything was locking down and we couldn’t travel anywhere, that it is something I’ve still not managed to do? Well, 2020 Aimee wouldn’t have been a happy bunny to put it lightly.

I want to make good on the dream I had as a 21 year old fresh out of university. I don’t regret a thing about the journey I went on in those 5 years, but you find in life there are some things worth jumping for. It’s time for me to make time for my dreams.

To be able to support such an amazing cause is such a privilege, and this experience will hopefully mean I have a part to play in the protection of rhino from poachers and wildlife crime. This money will go towards my volunteer experience and the amazing team of Rhino Monitors, Anti-Poaching professionals, PHD programmes and way way more to put in one post!
