Most of you know that Marc and I are foster parents. We adore our boys and wouldn't trade in the time we've had with them for anything. You've also been on this journey of foster parenting with us and seen firsthand the challenges of foster parents and foster youth face when they step into this world.

What you may not know is that I am also on the board of The Friends of Foster Care (TFFC).

TFFC started providing services to our family on Day 1 - reaching out about YMCA memberships, tutoring services, school's out camps, birthday/holiday gift wishlists, funds for basketball teams, etc. It is an incredibly well-run organization that takes huge mental loads off the minds of foster parents and gives kids what they need to just...be kids.

This year has been tough for all non-profits and TFFC, though robust and well-resourced generally, is no exception. Grant funds are significantly impacted from public and private sources. Thus, I've been challenged with fundraising $5,000 at year-end for TFFC (honestly, I hope to exceed this given the need).
