End menstrual stigma and poverty with Mini Moon

Donation protected
Hello! We are the Mini Moon Project, a youth-running not-for-profit organization that strives to eradicate period poverty by providing the vulnerable population with free sustainable menstrual kits. The Mini Moon Project strives to establish a correct understanding of the female body through menstrual health education and achieve women's empowerment by eliminating all menstrual taboos. Recognizing that period poverty must be solved with systemic solutions, the Mini Moon Project approaches the issue by not only distributing menstrual kits but also providing menstrual health education and advocating for menstrual literacy.

All funds through this portal will be used to purchase items that go toward our menstrual kits, including, but not limited to:

  • Menstrual Cups
  • Hygiene wash
  • Educational materials

As well as any delivery or external fees that act as barriers to our organization providing for those that are in need.

Approximately 25 pads or tampons are used monthly per person, adding up to an average of 300 each year. No amount of donations could support these girls indefinitely. Not only is it economically unsustainable, but it is also environmentally detrimental. According to Whisper, 7 billion tampons and pads are landing in landfills each year. Most of them contain chemicals, toxins, additives, and synthetic materials such as plastic, taking more than 500-800 years to decompose.

Menstrual cups, unlike pads or tampons which have vicious chemicals for the body and environment, can be used for 10 years and have no chemical substances. Through using menstrual cups, menstruators will become more comfortable with their bodies by physically interacting with them more, and as a result, learning more about them. The Mini Moon Project’s initiative considers all of the economic, environmental, and empowering processes of menstruation.

The Mini Moon Project was founded in 2019, and since then, the organization has grown to distribute over 3,000 menstrual kits and 30,000 educational materials to menstruators in Laos, Thailand, India, Kenya, South Africa, Canada, and South Korea.

Please help us continue our mission to support the fight for menstrual equity today!
