My name is Marshelle Woodland from St. Louis, Missouri. I am also known as Motivational Comedian Ms. Woody. I'm the mother of 9 children and I have been advocating for the homeless for 10 years. I also raise awareness for depression and mental illness. I'm very passionate about these community issues because I've been homeless many times myself off and on. And, because of my battle with depression in the pass.

Many people can relate to my story, especially if they became homeless due to their fight for justice. It's very hard to bounce back from any setback. Especially now that so many of us are trying to hold on and/or bounce back because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of homeless people is growing even faster because of the pandemic. Our city is even forcing those in tents from areas they are finding to take shelter.
I am the Founder/CEO of Midwest Show Me Funny Entertainment. It is one of a few small businesses I started to help me and my family try to live a better life. I'm working hard to grow it and my Say It On A Button business. I plan to make these businesses the main funding source for the End Homeless Mission Movement. Through my entertainment business I am writing my life stories as books, stage plays and movies. Through these projects even more can be raised to combat the homeless problems across our country. This is my wish and purpose in life.
For now, the END HOMELESS MISSION is a MOVEMENT. I'm calling it a movement until I can raise the funds and build a strong team to help run it as a non-profit organization with a small staff of caring individuals. I started it as a non-profit but had to give up on pushing it by myself. So, I can use your support to do that in any way you feel will be the best way to support.

I HAD TO TAKE ACTION TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Being an advocate for the homeless is challenging and I don't mind taking on this challenge. I had to take action to make a difference for the homeless problem because it's getting worse! Often I am asked, how can I help the homeless? And I've been told that there will never be a solution for the homeless problem. Well, it can be done for many through partnerships and collaborations. Especially for those who need more of a hand up and not so much of a hand out.
I started the End Homeless Mission because I didn't see enough people working together to end homelessness for many people at one time. Or a group of organizations working together to help more people avoid it. It became even more clearer to me after my family and I became homeless that there must be a better way. There are so many organizations feeding the homeless and struggling communities but not enough people working together to get people out of it. It's now the normal thing to do as far as helping the homeless. Why not bring people together to fix this problem? Who out there have a solution that don't help people stay stuck in homelessness for years!! I started looking at my own situation and how I could use what I had around me to help people get out of it.
HELPING AND HEALING THROUGH LAUGHTER IS ANOTHER ONE OF MY SOLUTIONS. AND, BEING A COMEDIAN WITH WELL-KNOWN CONNECTIONS IN THE INDUSTRY IS VERY BENEFICIAL!
Millions are needed to really get this END HOMELESS MISSION MOVEMENT moving. It have to be something unique and something that would stand out for years to come to help with a solution for combating homelessness. Being a comedian made me think about doing something comedy related. It had to be a way to STAND UP FOR CHANGE!!
My research ignited this passion in me to organize a Comedy Festival & Guinness World Record attempt. Through collaborations and partnerships we can make a huge impact in many communities.
So it's going to take a lot of advertisement to get the word out to many people to support this movement. This Go Fund Me Campaign will help raise some funds for that and help with funds to pull of the Comedy Festival and Guinness World Record attempt.
If you are a business willing to be a sponsor, have an interest in being a vendor or a non-profit organization interested in partnering contact me ASAP. People who are homeless or almost homeless need help with many things to get them out of their situations. Over the years I met people who are homeless due to losing a job, loved ones, health issues, legal issues, identity theft or just not making enough money to survive. A combination of things from that list caused my homeless situation. I needed help with all of it at the same time to get me out of it and so do many others.
MY PLAN COULD RAISE MILLIONS EVERY YEAR TO COMBAT THE HOMELESS PROBLEM IN MANY COMMUNITIES.
I'm doing my best to help and heal through laughter. I love comedy and truly believe that we need it in our life to live longer. I started out doing comedy in the mid 80's but I knew comedy was for me at a much earlier age. Especial, when I started using it to get the bullies off my back in grade school. It was comedy that saved my life when I was suffering from depression. I wanted to some day do comedy related events full time and use them to make a difference. Watching well-known comedians make people laugh made me want to do it even more. Our world is so sad and more people need to have laughter in their lives. In most cases when people are hurting they will hurt other people directly or indirectly. Especially, if they are hurting financially. There have been so many national disasters over the years and this pandemic has also hit so many of us hard. Because of them we now have even more homeless people in the world. Many people have lost their jobs and loved ones due to these disasters. For these reasons alone I feel that more people should work together to support each other's causes. It's my wish to give some of the funds raised from these events to each non-profit organization willing to work with me to help end homelessness for many people. I would like to have the Comedy Festival events next year if the pandemic is under control.
The money raised from this Go Fund Me will help pay for anything needed to pull off these events. It will help cover the cost of renting all of the venues or virtual events if the pandemic is still an issue next year. The rental of the Dome is well over $250,000, paying for booking a well-known host could cost a lot too. And paying the $12,000 fee for the Guinness World Record judge to be officially involved is well worth it. That's because well over $10,000,000 can be raised from Guinness events. Now that will be a great start to getting many people at one time out of homeless situations!!
