Hi everyone! My name is Camiyah Asberry, I am contestant number 2, a first year majoring in psychology on the pre-medical track at the University of Georgia. I am honored to be a contestant for the Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant hosted by the Beta Zeta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated

My grandfather was diagnosed with diabetes in 2013 and has had medical issues relating to that since then. When I was 7 years old, I vividly remember his diagnosis and the many amputations he has had due to diabetes. The early days were especially difficult for my family, especially my grandmother, as it was filled with uncertainties and many questions. His struggles have inspired me to raise money for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). I am passionate about supporting this organization because I have witnessed first-hand the long-term and life changing effects of diabetes.

The ADA is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing, curing, and managing diabetes. Their work funds research, supports community programs, and pushes for policies that make health care and medication more accessible to everyone.

Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly towards supporting the ADA's mission. I want to do my part to make a difference. Small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Thank you for helping me support the American Diabetes Association and brining us one step closer to a future without diabetes. #SupporttheADA ❤️
